Vintage Bamboo Ski Poles
These poles are actually in Very Good Condition, one pole has a few splits in the bottom bamboo section, I think these come from the 40's or early 50's. These have Red Leather Straps, Steel Tips with Aluminum Ferules, and Aluminum Basket Rings with Leather Webbing, Pole Length is 4 feet. These would make nice wall hangers for a Cabin, match them up with a pair of Antique Downhill Skis (check my store, I might have some) and maybe a pair of old leather boots. Sold for $48...
Vendramini Classic Buckle Ski Boots
If you were anything in the 60's, you had stylish, state-of-the-art boots like these. These are made by Vendramini, known for their motorcycle boot's. They feature stiff plastic soles and a laminated plastic outer with a soft, padded leather lining. Great conversation pieces and for decoration at the cabin. Good Condition, Size 8-1/2, $30...

NORRONA XC Boots - Cross Country
I remember these from the 80's, they were a lot like the Alfa's which were so popular. These fell out of popularity when the heavier (and stiffer) Kastinger and Asolo's were introduced. These have the double lace system like the Alfa's , they are an un-insulated leather boot, these have been sealed (probably with sno-seal) and have a stiffer sole than the Alfa's (like Vibram, but are Norrona). Condition is VERY GOOD with a few scuffs, the toes are not cracked. Euro size 46, U.S. size 12 to 12-1/2, $48...

Vintage 70's
ALFA
Cross Country Ski Boots
75mm...3-Pin - Size 46 (eu) (U.S. 12)
I remember these from the late 70's, at the time they were the fairly heavy boots. I think they cost about $60.00 then, but faded when Asolo's came out in the 80's. As you can see these leather boots were never sealed and could use some sno-seal. They have metal reinforcments (factory) on the outside pin-holes and have the original insoles.
Boots are USED, but are in VERY GOOD CONDITION, it doesn't look like they were used much at all, just some scuffing to the leather, the padded ankle colar is not flaking like most that I come across... $30.00

Vintage OLIN SKIS
Care and Maintenance Fold-Out
This 4-page, 4" x 8-1/2" fold-out probably came with your new skis, I'm thinking in the 80's. It lists the tools you'll need and methods for: Base Repair, Sharpening Edges, Waxing, Cleaning and Storage... $4.50
Vintage OMEGA COMET Skis
Never Mounted
What a cool pair of vintage Skis, look like 60's era, never  drilled. I can see these boards with a pair of Cubco bindings. These 205cm skis are made up of 33 Laminations of Hard Wood with a "Genuine Glassonite Sole", serial No. is 9505. As you can see in the base picture the metal edges are "screwed" to the base, you can also see the P-Tex base in this picture. My picture of the skis makes the skis paint look smudged, this is a glare from my flash and is not present on the skis. I like the neat metal chromed cap around the tips. Skis have never been drilled, but there are a few scratches and 2 top-edge dings from storage where you can see the wood core. $75...
The Cross-Country Ski School
Vintage 1984 - LOOK Ski Video - VHS
This video from LOOK is for those that prefer the "diagonal stride" above skating, I think skating was introduced just after this video was produced. There's a section on the forgotten art of Waxing (even prepping wood skis with pine-tar). This is the video from the Emmy-Nominated PBS television series in the 1980's in a single program format. You'll like the excellent scenery set in the Canadian Rockies.
Program Lessons Include: *The Diagonal Stride, *Double-Polling, *Climbing & Downhill, *Turning & Review, *Waxing & Trail Sense.
"Created for winter sports enthusiasts, this pioneering series is both an invaluable learning tool and a highly satisfying viewing experience."
Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada, 1984, 68 minutes.
VHS is USED, but is in GOOD CONDITION, box has some wear and light stains... $12.50
BONNA Emergency XC Ski Tip
A definate Must-Have for those vintage wood skis
This was probably in every XC skier's pack back when wood skis were the norm. Their tips were prone to breakage, especially if you took them straight out of the garage after a hot, dry summer and didn't let them absorb some moisture before that first outing. tdip measures about 9" from tip to back and has some metal prongs inside to keep it on tight. I think this is from the late 70's early 80's era.
Tip is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, still perfectly usable... $10.00
Cross-Country DOWNHILL
and Other Nordic Mountain Skiing Techniques - Vintage 1978
This book did more to evolve the telemark turn than any other. It wasn't easy back then, there weren't any "stiff" boots available.
"Cross-Country Downhill introduces a versatile, inexpensive, exhilarating, and powerful way of skiing for those who want to leave the crowded downhill slopes and cross-country tracks, and ski in the mountain wilderness - at almost any time of year! Designed for people who know the basics of skiing, this text provides easy-to-understand explanations and photos of Nordic mountain touring techniques, as well as the appropriate equipment, safety precautions, and maneuvers for skiing in a wide range of conditions and terrains."
By Steve Barnett, pacific Search Press, 1978, 1st ed, 95 page, 8-1/2" x 10-3/4" trade paperback in VERY GOOD CONDITION, 2 small stains to cover, some stains on a few interior pages, corner crease to back cover... $7.50

Adidas 'LAKE PLACID'
Cross Country Racing Boots
Men's size 12
Inspired by the 1980 winter Olympics at Lake Placid where adidas athletes won 20 gold, 22 silver and 19 bronze medals. It looks like these vintage racing boots were only used a few times. I remember the war between the binding norms back around 1980, Adidas lost that war with Salomon and NNN in a tie and both reaping the benefits. You'll need a pair of Adidas bindings to fit these if you want to use them, or just hang 'em on the wall of your ski challet...Boots are Lightly USED, but are in VERY GOOD CONDITION, it looks like they were only used a couple of times... $25.00

The Digest Book of Cross-Country Skiing (1979)
Both of these books by Erwin and Peggy Bauer have great pictures of the gear of the day, both skiing and winter camping. Also sections on where to go, safety and first-aid, skiing techniques. This is when I started cross-country skiing, so I enjoyed browsing through these two books... $9.00
Vintage BOREAL HEEL LOCATORS
For Those Wimpy XC Ski Boots Blues
I remember having these on my Alfa boots back around 1980, when I started exploring the world of the Telemark Turn. These keep your flexible XC boot from twisting when you try turn, so you will actually turn. These are marked Patent Pending which puts them in the first couple years of manufacture.
Heel Locators are USED, but are in GOOD CONDITION, some wear to the bottoms of the boot piece from walking, missing the ski screws, but has the boot screws, no cracks. Perfectly useable... $10.00

Super Loop Telemark Bindings
With Heel Lifters
If you ski with hard plastic boots these may not be for you (their newer models are more suitable), but if you still use heavy leather backcountry boots, and like to crank a few turns every now-and-then, these are great. These are the side release cable bindings with heel lifters (great when climbing). The original SuperLoop binding came out in 1987, they had bungee cord for cables. These came out a few years later (probably about 1990, I like the heel lifters for steep climbing.
Bindings are lightly USED, but are in VERY GOOD CONDITION (skis NOT included)... $30.00

Boot Stiffener Plates
I remember these from the mid or maybe late 80's. They sandwich between your 75mm, 3-pin binding and the ski top providing a stiffener for those of us who couldn't afford the more expensive, heavy duty, stiffer Asolo boots (and other brands that followed). They stiffened up flimsy boots, like the Alfa and Norrona boots so they could be used for telemarking. Your boots do need to have a lip on the back, usually the sole, for the clip to cinch the boot down.
Everything is here, including the screws, They're a one-size-fits-all plate, you just need to drill holes for different boot sizes and adjust the heel sides. They are foot specific, marked for Left and Right.
Plates are USED, but are in VERY GOOD CONDITION... $15.00

These poles are in VERY GOOD CONDITION, they have plastic grips and baskets with web straps, only some light wear to the labels. The labels say JOFA 150, Made in Sweden (150 must be the model no). I remember using poles like these back in the late 70's. $15.00
Vintage Early 70's TOKO SKIWAXER
For Downhill and Cross-Country Skiing, Box and Instruction Manual Included

The original price tag on the box of this TOKO SkiWaxer is dated 10-72 and the price was $13.95. I purchased the can of butane fuel locally at an oriental grocery store, so it is available, it fits the torch and works fine.
You get the Torch, Iron Plate, original Box and multi-language Instruction Sheet...
In the instructions for XC skis it refers to using Grundvalla, which was used on old wood ski bases.  Condition is VERY GOOD (some writing on the box)... $25.00

Vintage Vogg "Ski Slacks"
These Vintage Vogg Ski Slacks look like early 1970's to me, they would be great for vintage ski day or even pinned to the wall of your chalet. They were made in Japan and feature a rayon, nylon, acrylic fibre fabric blend (mild stretch) and imported by The Sport Centre Distributing Company, Vancouver B.C. They have a side zipper and stirrups at the ankles to keep them down, so they must be worn inside your boots. $25.00
Vintage and Unusual Hex Shaft
PRISMATIC
Apine Ski Poles
These, unusual, ski poles measure 52" (132 cm) from end to end, they have unusual hexagon shaped shafts tapering to round (16" from bottom end) and finally to a point at the end. I'm not familiar with the makers logo CSP (see pict), but they have Scott baskets (original?). Condition is GOOD, leather straps are fine, scratching to paint and orig. owners name scratched into paint on each pole. They are painted black with 2 blue stripes around shafts (blue stripes worn a lot). I can't find any info on the web about these poles, I'm thinking 70's?... $23.00
Kevin emailed with some info about these poles. Thanks Kevin!

"Were made by Collins ski products CSP. In the 60's and 70's - Later models were painted black. Original baskets were also hexagonal Doug Collins made them in Bergenfield. NJ - He lives in Emerson. NJ today - They also made the Identi-ski lock."

FABIANO
Cross Country Ski Bindings

Nordic Norm - Made in the USA
Fabiano back-country touring bindings with riveted bail for strength. Suitable for light telemarking and especially good for backcountry use. Heel-plates and original screws included. These also include the bolt-on (or off) spacer which was used for the thinner soles of some of the touring boots of the day, like Alfa and Normark (just remove them for today's, thicker soled boots).

Vintage Early 1960's
TYROLIA Model 800 Cable Bindings
with
W-E Toe Releases
These bindings hail from the early 1960's, I've seen an ad from a 1964 ski magazine with them (with different toe-piece though). The skis that these were on were kind-of trashed and rusty so they have been cut-down with just the bindings remaining. Original skis were "Cascade" and were rentals from the Rogue Ski Shop in Medford, Oregon, they were 18 Piece Laminate (wood) with Polymica Soles and screwed-on metal edges, of course the had metal tips and toe plates screwed on for protection. These have W-E release toe pieces, I'm not familiar with that logo or who made them, but I'm sure some of you Vintage Skier's out there know who made them. The long, leather safety straps are kind-of-cool, one of the bindings has the complete set, the other only has half of a set.
Bindings are actually in VERY GOOD CONDITION and would probably acutally work, just try to find a ski shop that would adjust them... $45.00
